Revered Business Tradition Finally Comes To The Internet
Tip Exchange(tm) Launches 1,850 Internet Tip Clubs
Oklahoma City, OK -- December 3, 2002 -- /Xpress Press/ -- One of the oldest and most revered
business traditions, the "tip club", has exploded onto the Internet. Tip Exchange Internet Tip Clubs (www.tipexchange.com), a division of Wheat Communications, Inc. of Oklahoma City, this
week launched Internet Tip Clubs for over 1,850 cities in the United States and Canada. Participation in any or all Tip Exchange Internet Tip Clubs is free.
Tip clubs have long been a mainstay of the American business community. Every week, millions of business owners, professionals and sales managers meet for breakfast or lunch in
order to trade contacts and leads. Some tip clubs have been in operation for decades. But conventional tip clubs have a major disadvantage the members all have to
meet in the same place and at the same time.
According to Paul D. Cardin, P.A., Wheat Communications President, "The biggest advantage of
Tip Exchange is the ability to overcome both time and location obstacles. You can participate in a Tip Exchange Internet Tip Club any time of the day or night. And you can do it from home or
on the road. You'll never miss a meeting because of a scheduling conflict, and neither will the other members. And that means more contacts, more leads and more business."
Another unique advantage of Tip Exchange is that members can participate in several Internet Tip Clubs at once in different cities and even in different states. That ability to leverage
business networking time is almost impossible in conventional tip clubs.
Tip Exchange also employs a unique club building strategy. Members are requested to refer
potential new members to both local clubs AND to out-of-area clubs. Because conventional tip clubs are location-bound, their members never refer out-of-area contacts. By having its
members refer new members from outside their local area, Tip Exchange takes advantage of the Small World, or Six Degrees of Separation, Theory. A string of seemingly unrelated referrals
outside of a local club will eventually bring referrals into the local club. And those are generally new contacts that the first group of local members would never have generated otherwise.
Busy sales people are not the only ones to benefit from Tip Exchange. Home-bound business people are also beneficiaries. "It was our own mobility restrictions that initially inspired Tip
Exchange," said Barbara T. Cardin, M.A., Wheat Communications Co-Owner. "There are millions of home-bound business owners that would otherwise never be able to participate in a
tip club. Some have physical limitations. Some have parenting responsibilities. Some are
family caregivers. We've been in all three situations, and we're proud that Tip Exchange can further empower business people with similar restrictions."
