• They don’t “Cost a Lot of Bread”: you can reach thousands more at just a fraction of the cost.  At costs ranging from about $20.00/mo to $100.00/mo., you pay just a fraction of the charges that you spend on postage!
   
• Pair your e-Newsletter with other marketing approaches. Savvy marketing means marketing “across channels”. What is the most unique method of advertising you have seen?
   
• Practice “Polite Internet e-Etiquette”. e-Etiquette includes not only asking permission FIRST, but also conforming to certain rules. Ex: Did you know that if you BOLD ALL LETTERS of e-mail, it is seen as “shouting”?
   
• Great e-Newsletters contain great marketing layouts and language. While many of traditional marketing approaches work for the e-Newsletters, some are specific to the Internet.  Ex: Do you know that your e-Newsletter needs to be not much wider than 550 pixels? Any idea why?
   
• Great e-Newsletters add a touch of education or information. Do not just do a “Hard Sell” e-Newsletter; add in some tidbits of information, preferably about your services or business.  Some companies add additional tidbits about other topics too! This can be a great way to feature some partners.
   
• They also look good, but not in a BIG way! Remember, people with different bandwidths will be DOWNLOADING your email into their email box…keep them small, with graphics that do not overwhelm the download process. Do you know the size NOT to exceed?
   
• Above all – they contain “Whole Wheat”…no Chaff! People are not stupid, if you lie to them or shade the truth, they will sense it, even if they do not know for certain. Give them good information, truthful information. And, they will not only respect you, but see you as an expert.
